12 Tribes Lake Chelan Casino (LCC) has announced that their entire indoor facility will adopt a smoke-free policy starting October 1, 2026. The timing of the change coincides with significant indoor renovations that will take place following a recent external update.
“With new indoor renovations coming, we believe the timing is right to make the switch at the Lake Chelan location,” said Tony Posey, General Manager of LCC.
A 2024 poll from the American Nonsmokers; Rights Foundation found that 86% of casino guests nationwide are non-smokers while 90% prefer to have a smoke-free gaming experience. Studies noted that these were averages and individual markets can vary. On-site observations and discussions at LCC closely mirrored the averages. At this time indoor smoking is still allowed at Omak Casino Hotel and Coulee Dam Casino.
LCC completed an outdoor smoking shelter equipped with heaters in preparation for the October 1 change. Signage highlighting the change was placed at locations throughout the casino on September 1 to give guests advance notice of the new policy.
