The Laundry Attendant works as part of the guest service team. Laundry is an essential part of the hotel’s service, ensuring that cleanliness and hygiene of all linens and garments is maintained. This is important to a guest’s well being. The quality of the hotel laundry can be a factor in whether a customer returns to the hotel again.
Sorts all linen and separates and treats all stains.
Loads articles into washer and adds specified amount of detergent, soap, or other cleaning agents.
Lifts clean, wet articles from washer and places them into dryers for measured time cycles.
Sorts dried articles according to type. Irons, folds and places items in appropriate locations for storage.
Handles contaminated articles per company and OSHA standards.
Maintains inventory of cleaning supplies and linen; informs the Supervisor/Manager of inventory needs.
Maintains all laundry equipment and informs appropriate personnel of maintenance needs.
Other duties as assigned.

Must be able to follow written and verbal directions.
Must be flexible in hours and days worked.
Must be capable of working in a fast paced environment with multiple interruptions. Is detailed and able to multi-task effectively in order to accomplish various tasks throughout the day while keeping the guest experience in mind at all times.

Knowledge and Abilities:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
Minimum of one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism; treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position.
Knowledge of, and ability to, appropriately interpret and follow policies and procedures.
Knowledge of and ability to adhere to safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.
Ability to meet the demands of the work schedule, to be at work and on time. May occasionally require the ability to work outside of regularly scheduled hours. Schedules may vary based on business need.
Able to lift and push a minimum of 75lbs.
Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, bend and twist.
Exposure to cleaning chemicals.
Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays & special events as needed.
Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
Ability to perform continuous repetitive movement; bending, twisting, lifting, and standing.
Must be able to reach and pull, occasionally sit, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Must be able to regularly stand, walk, run, use hands to finger, handle, feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
Must be able to push and pull (cart) 75 pounds frequently and 125 pounds occasionally.
