Group Sales Manager

Summary:

Responsible to increase the revenue earned by the Resort, by thinking and implementing attractive deals, group sales, and by meeting prospective customers and business clients to promote the business unit. Apply proven marketing and sales skills and experience to maximize and manage yield, occupancy and average daily rate of hotel and F&B business. Sets sales goals, analyzes data, and develops training programs for company's sales team.

Essential Functions:

• Develop plans to acquire new customers or clients, through direct sales techniques, cold calling, and business-to-business marketing visits
• Develops and maintains relationships with key clients in order to produce group and/or convention business
• Negotiates guest room rates, meeting room rental, function space(s), and hotel services within approved booking guidelines
• Accurately maintains detailed client files
• Conducts tours of the hotel, function space, and banquet facilities
• Accurately forecasts all bookings and cancellations
• Achieve monthly personal room and revenue sales goals
• Effectively communicates BEOs and events to affected casino operating departments
• Ensures execution of contracts, deposits, billing pertinent to meeting and function space(s) is coordinated and communicated to reservations and sales team
• Attends and represents company at trade shows and conventions
• Develop/maintain knowledge of market trends, competition and customers
• Responds and resolves customer complaints regarding sales and services quickly, but in a professional manner
• Consistently follows up to ensure guest satisfaction meets and exceeds service standards
• Maintains a professional image at all times that falls within the company guidelines for appearance and dress
• Plan and coordinate training programs for sales representatives

Knowledge and Abilities:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing or closely related field
• A minimum of 5 years in hotel sales, preferably in a luxury hotel market
• Guest centric oriented
• Must have superior customer service skills
• Must have superior sales and negotiation abilities
• Must have exceptional communications skills, both oral and written
• Ability to be flexible, self starter, and tackle multiple tasks
• Demonstrated ability working as team player
• May be required to work variable work hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Must possess or have ability to obtain a valid Tribal Gaming License

Physical Demands:

• Manual and finger dexterity for operation of a personal computer, routine filing and other paperwork
• Ability to sit, stand or walk for prolonged periods of time
• Be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
• May be exposed to a high level of noise in the work environment
• May be exposed to tobacco smoke, fumes or airborne particles
