Financial Analyst

Salary Grade: $48,895 - $68,453 DOE
Reports To: CFO
FSLA Classification: Exempt


Provides upper management with analysis to support strategic business decisions and to analyze the revenue accounting management function for Colville Tribal Federal Corporation.

Essential Functions:

  • Construct and analyze budgets. 

  • Conduct capital planning and provides input into strategic planning.

  • Interact with senior management and corporate management.

  • Work with departments concerning operating budgets, capital plans and strategic plans.

  • Preparation and review of marketing and financial reports.

  • Conduct research and produce special reports/projects as needed.

  • Report on revenue management function.

  • Develop systems to enhance revenue optimization process.

  • Understand accounting software system and process.

  • Maximize utilization to enhance property revenue.

  • Expand accounting software process to include all non-gaming areas that can benefit from its use. 

  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with the requirements of the loan agreement pertaining to CTFC property.

  • Provide input on various legal documents entered into by CTFC including contracts, loans agreements and insurance policies.

  • Participate in discussion related to benefit policies which impact CTFC operations and ensures the entity’s compliance with various auditing and reporting requirements in this regard. 

  • Coordinate internal and external audits as necessary.

  • Formatting of all financial systems and processes, including the preparation of weekly, monthly, and annual financial statements.

  • Assist in training accounting staff when necessary.

  • Adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies/procedures in an ethical manner.

  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

Knowledge and Abilities:

  • BS or BA Degree from an accredited educational institution required.

  • Accounting or finance certification, MBA preferred. 

  • Ten years’ successful financial experience preferred.

  • Five years’ casino experience preferred.

  • Two years’ experience with using predictive and historical analysis models required.

  • Must demonstrate proficiency in the use of Windows based office software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills

  • Self-starter, must work without close supervision

  • Strong people management skills, with very strong analytical skills

  • Ability to guide others to work independently in an unstructured environment

  • Excellent problem solving and project management skills

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Neat, professional appearance with excellent personal hygiene

    • Must possess or have the ability to obtain a current and valid Tribal Gaming License.

Physical Demands:

    • Manual and finger dexterity as required to perform daily job duties.
  • Ability to frequently sit for prolonged periods of time.

  • Ability to occasionally walk or stand for prolonged periods of time.

  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to occasionally bend, squat and reach.

  • May be exposed to a high level of noise in the work environment.

  • May be exposed to tobacco smoke, fumes or airborne particles.

  • May be exposed to outside weather conditions, including variations in temperature and precipitation.
